Happy Bachdag 2017
I was commissioned by 24 Classics to create a program for the Happy Bachdag 2017. 24 Classics is very nice. They have awesome playlists, organise concerts at places where you don’t expect classical music to be played. Check them out at www.24classics.com.
For the Happy Bachdag I worked together with several musicians from different musical worlds to explore Bach’s existence in their music. And to see where we could invite him to join us in our music. Erbarme dich has a perfect match with Janne’s music, Arabic quartertones fit very well with Air, Tineke’s absolute silence is heard in the Art of the Fugue and Helena Basilova shows us what’s behind Bach’s written notes. We named the program Air Bach. The concert in Nijmegen featured the Bachkoor Nijmegen. It was a dream come true to play my piece Cotmarangonuru with 90 singers!
